The Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites Concludes Its Participation in the 2025 Berlin International Tourism Fair

The Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites participated in the Saudi Arabia pavilion at the International Tourism Forum – Berlin 2025, one of the world’s leading specialized platforms in the tourism sector, in cooperation with the Saudi Tourism Authority. This participation reflects the Commission’s ongoing efforts to enhance Makkah’s position as a leading global destination and to highlight strategic projects and initiatives that contribute to developing the tourism experience in line with an integrated developmental vision, adhering to the latest international standards and aligned with the objectives of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.

The participation provided an opportunity to showcase a range of projects, including the development and rehabilitation of historical sites, enriched with educational and interactive content to enhance the visitor experience. It also highlighted an integrated system of immersive experiences and sites that emphasize Makkah’s cultural and spiritual dimensions. The Commission also drew attention to its efforts in developing the transportation system within Makkah, aiming to improve mobility across the city and Holy Sites, strengthen connectivity between different areas and the central zone, and employ advanced smart technologies to ensure a smooth and seamless experience for visitors.

In this context, Eng. Saleh bin Ibrahim Al-Rashid, CEO of the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites, emphasized that participation in this international event is part of the Commission’s ongoing efforts to enhance Makkah’s presence on the global tourism map and highlight projects and initiatives that reflect the city’s remarkable transformation. He added: “Makkah represents a unique destination that combines spiritual depth and historical heritage. At the Royal Commission, we are working to develop a comprehensive tourism system based on innovation and sustainability, ensuring an exceptional experience that meets the expectations of visitors from around the world. Our participation in the Berlin Fair also provides an opportunity to strengthen international partnerships and present a clear picture of ambitious projects reflecting the Kingdom’s vision for developing Makkah as a fully integrated global hub.”

This participation reaffirms the Royal Commission’s commitment to continuing its efforts to provide an integrated and sustainable experience that balances Makkah’s rich history with future requirements, through investment in infrastructure, enhancement of smart digital solutions, and development of a comprehensive system of services that make visiting Makkah a rich and distinctive experience, reflecting its unique status globally.
