This mosque dates back to the time of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and continues to be maintained through the regular establishment of prayers up to the present day. Al-Ijabah Mosque is considered one of the oldest houses of worship in Makkah. It is said that the Prophet ﷺ prayed at its location twice: the first time during the period when Quraysh besieged him and the Muslims before the migration (Hijrah), and the second time on the day of the Conquest of Makkah.
The mosque was built before the third century of Hijrah. Al-Ijabah Mosque is located in Makkah in the neighborhood of Rī‘ Dhākher in Al-Ma‘ābidah, specifically between Al-Masjid Al-Haram and to the left of the road leading toward Wadi Mina.
